The Gay Pride Parade made me realize how accepting Boston is and how happy everyone is when they are with each other. The parade was about 2 and a half hours long, a walk that did not take long but with each step the cheers for “Medford Mustangs” and “Go Medford” kept the pace going, finally reaching the finish line with loud music and stands of food.įor my first experience, I can say it is something everyone should go through after all it is one the of the largest parades we have in Boston. The motorcycles covered in rainbow flags started the parade, other groups quickly coming in line, one of which was Medford High School. With a moment of silence to remember those who experienced the tragic event the parade transitioned to begin. Gathering in face paints of rainbows, sunshines, and peace signs we dominated the train to Copley Square having a quick breakfast and meeting others for the parade at the Boston Marathon Memorial. Stevens joined all students at Wellington Station. From spirals, to the equal sign each t-shirt made me pumped for the parade.Īt exactly 9:00 am, teachers Ms.

The shirts came out great as we listened to Same Love by Macklemore on repeat and sung along, adding reds, blues, yellows, and greens to our t-shirts. Little did I know, we were actually in the parade, holding the Medford High School Banner as we joined other schools and other organizations.īefore going to the actual parade, I of course had to go through the tie-dye experience with a few Medford High Students. As it was my first experience I was extremely excited to walk with the Medford High GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance).
